The press conference was Putin showing off how tame his lap dog is...then kicking him

The kick, right in Trump's balls, was Putin's "explanation" that he wouldn't have been trying to get any dirt on Trump years ago because Trump wasn't important enough, and Putin wouldn't even have known he was in Russia.

Putin's not stupid (unlike Trump). That was a deliberate slap at Trump's ego. It was Putin's little joke with his aides, who reportedly were chuckling during the press conference.

And I won't be surprised to hear that Russian TV will be chuckling over Trump's humiliation, as well as gloating about how obedient he was during Putin's dog show today.

I was actually expecting Putin to throw Trump a life line and agree to some minor deal that Trump could then boast about, but I was wrong. Putin met with him for 4 hours, during which Trump surely begged and pleaded for anything, but Putin said, "Nope, you're going to go out there and clearly take my side against America while kissing my ass. Now run along boy."
