I know a lot of people here have that one father or cousin that is so far right that they'll do anything to defend their cheeto overlord.
But at this point, if your loved ones or friends still back him. You might have to start calling your own traitors as well. Harsh reality to face when it's your own blood, but I think we've hit that moment.
I know my own father is a heavy tRump lover along with my cousin, and so are many of my friends. And tonight after reading kost of their comments on Facebook I had to tell them they are following a traitors path and I can't associate myself with the likes of those who turn on their own country like tRump. And this was a lot of thought I had to give before doing it and honestly this was the hardest thing I had to do and finally cut ties with them. Even my father who I've always detested, but since forgiven for him leaving my mom and I. But this was it.
Sadly this is America. I think we just have to face we are going to have to pick our freedom and country over loved ones who will continue to support our traitor in chief.
Much love and keep strong everyone.

Just imagine the suffering the signatories to the Declaration Of Independence endured.

(10,155 posts)This will further drive families apart. It took me this long, but my patience ran dry after tonight.

I will be excommunicating as needed as well.

(9,895 posts)She chooses to support and defend Trump and I choose to deal with it as if she has died. I HAD a sister, and 4 nieces and nephews once...then Trump was elected and my racist Brother-in-law showed his true stripes and now my family is less extended than it was.
I do not see a reconciliation on the horizon either....perhaps when our parents die, but I imagine a lot MORE strife then as well...
We cannot choose our family members, but when they choose others and forsake the values they were raised on, our family can choose to leave us.

(10,155 posts)Except no one died. They chose to be this way and chose to put a treasonous bastard over country first. It really hurts too, in my heart it hurts to cut off loved ones. But eventually it just isn't worth it. My cousin who actually praised kids being locked up was the first to go. I couldn't believe she was defending that.

(4,066 posts)Families divided over what was right and wrong then. This is no different really. Trump is siding with our enemy and giving them aid and comfort. Those who support him and do not acknowledge this are complicit in the treason. Just like those who took up arms against the Union were traitors.
There is no grey area left here.
vercetti2021
(10,155 posts)No grey here at all. Either they know or too brainwashed to know. If they are willing to side with Benedict cheeto, then so be it. We'll be on the right side of history.

are suckered by the lure of the racist asshole trump to the point of treason. Sounds like Hyperbole but NOT.
I feel lucky in that respect.. All the loved ones I have are fully aware of what a giant malignant cancer he is on the world.
I had one friend of 23 years who told me after the election that he voted for trump and he started regurgitating his hatemonger talking points about President Obama.. and I said that's it.. that's the Deal Breaker. Over. I haven't heard from him so I guess he's still a brainwashed idiot. he likes the tax cuts and willing to overlook everything else.

(10,155 posts)Can't save them, let them fester in their own self stupidity and learn the hard way. But I am lucky the majority of my friends and family are very liberal as well. But I have had a lot of patience for them and tonight was it. They support treason, so I can't put up with it
