Woman stabs man who dropped his Chihuahua
Chihuahua yelps after fall from man's arms, prompting angered woman to stab owner, police say
A woman allegedly stabbed a man Monday in downtown (San Diego) after becoming angered when a Chihuahua he was holding fell onto the ground and yelped, police said.
The bizarre attack happened around 9:40 a.m. on Ninth Avenue near Broadway, San Diego police Sgt. Tom Sullivan said. The 35-year-old woman was watching the man walk by from her apartment window when the Chihuahua he was holding jumped from his arms.
The suspect yelled at the male for dropping the dog and threatened the male with injury, Sullivan said in a statement. She then went downstairs and across the street to confront the man, allegedly stabbing him once in the upper thigh, Sullivan said. The knife attack did not seriously injure the man and he refused medical treatment.
The woman initially returned to her apartment before fleeing the area, but she was found a short time later and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Sullivan said. Her name was not immediately released.
