But obviously Ryan is less concerned about the technicalities and more concerned about how it would look if the guy whose ass he's been kissing for the last year and a half could face prosecution for giving aid and comfort to an enemy.

it's never been interpreted that way. The Rosenbergs, for example, were executed for espionage, not treason, since there was no declared war in progress. "Treason" is often used in the rhetorical sense, not the legal sense; that could have been how Brennan was using the word. I do think what Trump did clearly falls within the category of impeachable offenses - "high crimes and misdemeanors," which are not necessarily even statutory crimes.

and can do something about them. Focusing on Russia and Putin just transfers anger away from domestic traitors, including trump.

He is kissing his ass as I watch this. How degrading of Ryan to not want to hold Trump accountable.
