How wonderfully successful Putin has been at fucking over the UK and the US

he engineered Brexit and Dumbshit using some online trolls, some quislings (Boris Johnson, Mitch McConnell), and the thing that made both of our societies most vulnerable: Racism.

As far as I can see, the drive for both Brexit and Dumbshit were appeals to Racists. And it worked out for him in spades. While the UK drives itself into a ditch, neither able to pull off a brexit or pull out of brexit, the US is tying itself in knots trying to figure out how to rid ourselves of this moron and his accomplices.

Putin has masterfully leveraged our racism (or our fellow citizens' racism) against us, causing both large powers to shoot ourselves in the face, at extremely low cost.

I have to hand it to that little asshole, he's certainly improving Russia's place in the world by lowering ours.

can they not have another referendum to reverse the decision? no idea what the process is there for such votes.

i get that if they did, and they decided to remain after all, there would still need to be a negotiation with the e.u., given that they formally filed to leave, and the e.u. has already said that there would be a price to pay, but still....

i understand that in the u.s. we have no redo for presidential elections, at best we have impeachment, which is broken for the forseeable future....

that it would be extremely unlikely. How sad that the obvious best course is so unlikely.

3. thanks. actually according to wiki, referendums aren't even binding in the uk

though they obviously have a big political impact.

so technically "all" that's needed is a p.m. and parliament willing to say, screw this, not happening.

5. they're in a better position to do that in the uk.

if they find that russia manipulated the actual vote count, they're in a good position to dismiss the referendum results. assuming the can topple may and form a remain government.

if we find that russia completely manipulated the election results and in fact hillary won in a landslide, we're still screwed because we have no means to fix this, at least not without a completely implausible degree of cooperation from partisan republicans in washington.

7. It's extremely unlikely that they manipulated the vote count as such

We still use paper ballots, which are not easy to manipulate.

Illegal donations; dodgy propaganda; social media 'bots' - yes, very likely; but not actual vote-rigging.

The whole referendum campaign was so dishonest, however, that I think there are many grounds for a new referendum.

9. i assume they could still have manipulated the actual vote as they are suspected of doing here,

by messing with the eligible voters databases, thereby preventing targeted people from voting in the first place.

and yes, the better documented financial and propaganda shenanigans....

6. Pootie must have some powerful mojo

We know that Cheeto's been bought, and there's probably Kompromat too. But how did Pootie get Boris Johnson to play along? I'm beginning to think he's doing some long-distance hypnosis on these guys.

8. I don't think he did- Boris just thought it would be good for his PM campaign

Or rather that a narrow Remain victory would be good for his PM campaign. I don't think Boris expected Brexit to win.

Boris is all about only one thing: Boris!
