John McCain by way of Laurence Tribe on Montenegro, NATO, Putin, and Trump

Gawd knows, I'm desperate for common sense, a knowledge of history, and a appreciation for democracy when I keep posting McCain's comments, but like Tribe, I appreciate his "voice"... Perhaps more than he will ever know.

I’ll applaud him when he takes a stand for the country, e.g. leaving GOP for the sake of the country for starters. How about lobbying other senators and reps to do the same? then we’re talking. How about blocking trump’s proposals such as justice nominees until trump changes course with russia, etc.

Does your critique apply to other phases of his career/life in the Senate, YES!

But now? Outrageous and damned insensitive imo.

He chooses to be active and still has the power to make changes. It may sound insensitive but now is not the time for emotions; the future of this country and the world is at stake and he knows it better than anybody else.

up to it. He hasn't appeared in the Senate since mid-December, 2017. Unless one is physically present on the floor of the Senate, you can't vote, you can't speak to issues, you can only comment from the sidelines as he is doing.

I can only presume you have never been with a terminal patient. That is a kindness for you, if so, but it seems to make you unable to comprehend what his life is like now.

instead of simply condemning. I am not asking him to fly anywhere.
