(15,751 posts)In trial, [be patient, trial is coming up soon], the opening prosecution overview statement would probably be really loaded. Open up all sorts of new coverage, even on rightwing outlets. Anytime, after opening statements would be much better than now. Not to be a spoilsport marble falls, but 2 weeks of blizzard coverage of the trial would be good, - and drown out trump.

(57,063 posts)but I don't want cheeto dealt with till after the election so we don't lose voters who think anything really changes once we pinch cheetolini. Fry him up after we get at least a nominal control in November. The GOP may try to do a quick "impeachment lite" between now and the sitting of a Democratic Congress. We want at the players and all the acts in daylight.

(56,828 posts)in addition to all those GRU agents and other Russians? That might put a damper on him visiting Trump in November.
Indicting Putin was mentioned in a tweet by Sen. Richard Blumenthal. (Don't have Twitter access at work, so can't post that link)
marble falls
(57,063 posts)but it isn't as if he'll be able to get him in front of a judge, though I understand it might make Putin's international travel a bit dicey. Ask Henry Kissinger about that.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)I doubt he would risk setting foot in the US if he was indicted.

(57,063 posts)very many votes but it might give we Democrats a bunch more. cheetolini and the GOP didn't figure how seriously most of we boomers do not trust Russians.
