...about his lawyer perhaps "illegally" recording their conversation?
The very fact that it was not about Putin, or Helsinki, or his National Security team was significant. It is possible that they were attempting to change the subject? But, more likely, this was the topic that was occupying their minds the most at this time? Why?
Because it is important to them. They feel threatened by these tapes. They are trying to get out in front of this story. This story is the one that bothers them the most at this time. That is the significance of his tweet this morning.

Beyond being exhausting and irritating--often blood pressure raising, I fear he is turning the entire population into one forever burdened with Attention Deficit Disorder.

(5,324 posts)Inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyers office (early in the morning) - almost unheard of. Even more inconceivable that a lawyer would tape a client - totally unheard of & perhaps illegal. The good news is that your favorite President did nothing wrong!

(50,267 posts)conversation is being recorded? It might be an ethical violation if Cohen was acting as an attorney, but Don complaining about ethics is ludicrous.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,674 posts)I don't think taping the conversation was necessarily an ethical violation either - depending on what was to be done with the tapes. Maybe Cohen was making tapes for a future memoir (in which case there could be a problem with attorney-client privilege, although apparently this particular tape was cleared), or maybe he was taping Trump to protect himself from "misunderstandings" - that is, Trump's lies. We know that in civil cases involving Trump his own lawyers always met with him in pairs because they didn't trust him to be honest about the advice he was being given.

(114 posts)If the conversation was privileged, prosecutors didn't have it. I anticipate more releases like this by dT's lawyers to continue to change the media focus.
So question...why would it be considered privileged by Special Master, if its a discussion about committing a crime? Also, on Maddow last night, writer Emily Jane Fox, said the tape conversation is not as it was described by Guilianni..., big surprise. Things are always the opposite of what dT's posse says.
