WE ARE STUNNED BY THE POWER OF HIS DECEIT
"Dear America, You are waking up as Germany once did to the awareness that one third of your people would kill another third, while a third watches." Werner Twertzog. The perfect Russian storm came to life on Election Day. In our time no foreign army has ever occupied American soil. Until now. The GOP clutching their flags and Bibles let them in the back door while we slept. July 13 Bashful Bob found the witches' coven in Moscow, and American witch indictments will soon follow.
We wake up every day and the moon hasn't tipped over. Imagine waking to find the moon flat on its face on the bathroom floor like Elvis Presley, poisoned by banana splits. Every day is worse. The old man who shampoos with Tang, has an ego that would make Napoleon blanch and a power lust that would make Stalin freak out. Trump's dishonesty has been central to his presidency. Serial deception is like a new perfume. At first you easily detect the scent. But over time with repeated applications you can hardly sense its presence, so you liberally apply more. You've desensitized. Watching a clip of one of Trump's hate rallies is akin to being locked in a phonebooth with a rabid raccoon.
The President of the US is a pathological and perverse liar. That changes the nature of your job as a citizen. This evil is being done in your name.We are stunned by the power of his deceit. That puts us in a state of fear. Fear paralyzes. Yet 27% don't see the man we see. A man who adores dictators and uses them as role models. A man visiting pain and misery upon the world. What kind of American looks at at Trump and doesn't see the monster we do? Putin seeks to destroy America and democracy worldwide and he's reduced Trump to his impotent toady. This is terrifying. Stop pretending it isn't. Stop being a "watcher".
Trump is unencumbered by conscience and morals. That is disarming to his foes. He breaks down peoples' ability to resist as he did with the NFL and his "doctors". He creates a reality and insists with extraordinary stamina his delusions are the truth. He calls it "bravado".
We've been tap dancing on the knife's edge for so long we've forgotten what it's like to genuinely rest.
Not all that walks in the shape of a man is human. The endgame is on. Trump goes down or we do. He will blow up the world to prove he matters. He is that disturbed. Protests and baby blimps are not election strategy and have no effect on him. Vote these Republican traitors out.

(81,091 posts)BRAVA jodymarie! As Eloise's nanny (Nanny) said when the room service arrived, "My my my doesn't that look good!" (I'm a big fan of the "Eloise" books.)
This is a Thing of Beauty! THANK YOU for sharing it. Better yet, THANK YOU for writing it and sending it out so it gets published!
These are things that need to be said. And your word pictures are wonderful!

(108 posts)Thanks, great post. I was born in Germany shortly after WW2 and it sounds like how the German people were deceived, hopefully the midterms will correct this and change congress.

I recommended this post mostly for that one line, because it is so profound.
Never a truer word was spoken. Usually empty ones are found elsewhere, but now a third of our people, with the help of GOP treason and Russian hacking, have elected one to the White House. There isn't anything in there, behind his eyes. Only evil.
Like Hitler, he would happily preside over another Holocaust.
We cannot allow that to happen. We must vote them out in November.

(3,515 posts)I especially like this: "Trump's dishonesty has been central to his presidency. Serial deception is like a new perfume. At first you easily detect the scent. But over time with repeated applications you can hardly sense its presence, so you liberally apply more. You've desensitized."
It is so easy to become desensitized to lies, deceit and corruption.
And Americans are becoming desensitized to Trump's lies, deceit and corruption.

(43,032 posts)for those on the fence, you will awaken some of the somnambulant, and the quirky phrases will grab attention - what's going on here? It's raw, in-yer-face, without being mean or vicious. Real style. Take it to 'em!

(530 posts)While I agree voting is critical in this election, we need to be sure our votes are protected. To paraphrase some autocrat - fictional or not - somewhere who once said, "it is not who votes that counts, it matters who counts the votes". If Russia is able to hack the votes we cast and change them, it doesn't matter if we vote. We should organize some sort of shadow election. Oh, wait - we used to have them - they used to be called exit polls which have mysteriously become "unreliable" since they were showing discrepancies between the votes counted and the results of the exit polls. It always fascinated me that they were very reliable until they weren't.

(6,161 posts)............ told me was my life long responsibility. There was and is no expiration date.
There have been time when it has just been there in the background encouraging me to get out and vote on that cold snowy day. It has encouraged me to run for public office and help give voice to concerned citizens in my community.
I has encourage me to speak out against injustices that deprive Americans of their rights. Rights granted them by the very foundation of those rights.
So at 71 I still remember standing in line with dozen of other Americans. Of raising our right hands and taking an oath of enlistment. I haven't worn a uniform for nearly 50 years. I haven't saluted a single commissioned office in nearly 50 years. I haven't been called sergeant or collected a military paycheck in those same 50 years.
But the one important thing I still carry with me is the memory of this oath.
"I swear to Support and Defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic".
Fellow veterans remember your oath has no expiration date!
