I wonder if Ocasio-Cortez is trying to pull a BernieSo, Bernie Sanders came out of nowhere and captured the vote of many millenials and independents in 2016 during the primaries. He did not win. In the process he burned a lot of bridges and alienated many democrats. I think he would be hard pressed to do any better in 2020. I wonder if Ocasio-Cortez is trying to ride the same wave for 2020. She is young and apparently is appealing to the same cross-section of voters that Bernie did. Maybe she is Bernie 2.0 ?

1. I will wait to see some long term success before I go there...
Bernie has been around a while, and has hardly been low profile, having chaired committees for the Dems.
I think OC is over-reaching a bit by running around the country "helping" others, but that's just my opinion. IMHO, she should stay home and continue to work her district. |

2. He received 13 million votes in the primaries,
and not simply from millennials and independents.

3. Please stop with the Faux Newz attempt at "just asking questions" and just speak your damn mind.
You got something to say, just say it.

5. excuse me?
I am asking whether or not Cortez is going to generate enough enthusiam to run with it in 2020, that is take over Bernie's banner.
I am not sure what you are talking about versus faux-news? Now, if you have reading comprehension problems, its none of my concerns. |

9. Let me get this straight. You're looking at a Presidential run by AOC in 2020?
The Faux folks like to "just ask questions" instead of plainspeak. It's pretty widespread in the M$M, so if you're unfamiliar with the tactic, you should brush up. Why would you think she has ANY aspersions to further office or even staying in politics whatsoever?

4. eh...erased my reaction. To address your question, I doubt she's going for a Presidential run for
2020 or 2024/8 for that matter. I don't know this woman beyond what we've seen publically, but that would be an incredibly hubristic move that would almost certainly come up short. I think or hope that she is aware of just how much preparation it would require to even govern as a congress person, and that she intends to spend a decade or more honing those skills before considering even loftier seats.

Isn't she 28 years old? You need to be 35 to serve as president.

she is unable to do? She can't run in 2020. Period.

14. I think she is an energetic talented young woman with progressive Democratic ideas in
the mold of the FDR branch of the party who is seeking to become a Congressperson. Since she is young and energetic she probably will appeal to a lot of young people. But then so did Bernie. I think she is Ocasio-Cortez 1.0 and hopefully there are many more individually talented and like-minded young people engaged in the election process. After all, the future is really theirs.

15. Let's Get Through The 2018 Midterms First Before You Start Talking 2020.....
We should be laser focused to get a record number of voters out in Nov and do all we can to elect any and all Dems regardless of where they stand in the Party. We need to do all we can to take back the House and/or the Senate. We'll have plenty of time after we take back control to deal with 2020. Right now all Dems need to work together to do that.
Don't fall into the trap being set for us to divide us in the Party. |
