Soybean Farmers still Support Trump

Delaware's soybean farmers still support Trump, despite the tariffs on China lowering their profit. We'll see how they feel when they lose their farms, jobs, health care......I just don't get it. Thank God most of the people in Delaware live in the northern, more progressive part of the state. Delaware's Democratic Senators wrote to Trump about the impact and one of the farmers quoted in the article says, with Repuke Reflexes, that they don't represent him and "shouldn't be putting words in our mouths".

Georgetown farmer James H. “Jay” Baxter IV said the issue is about more than his 1,000 acres of soybeans. He believes the Trump administration's tariffs could make the U.S. economy stronger, even though it is a point of view shared by few economists.

Unlike those academics, who use broad indicators to determine national wealth, Baxter said a healthy economy is one that must domestically produce tangible products, like steel.

“Even if it does impact my pocketbook, we have to stand for something,” he said. "If we can see the steel mills come back to life again up there in Pennsylvania … then we can see benefits to the economy in that regard, not just the gross national product."

Nebraska farmers will still support him it seems no matter what happens as long as farm subsidies are not eliminated.

We want other countries to eliminate their subsidies to their farmers, yet we maintain and raise ours year in and year out.

and understands their impact, when the truth is that his “policies” are nothing more than empty rhetoric designed to whip up the racists and bigots into a frenzy.

There are no policies, only hatred for others and egotistical blathering.

I.e., like "white supremacy and hegemony". These are the same types of people who were willing to spend twice as much money to duplicate public facilities (bathrooms, water fountains) to purportedly keep from running afoul with "separate but equal", as long as they didn't have to "share" their gawd-given space with the "abhorent negro".
