Recently, there have been two post that, to me, create a somewhat

divisive atmosphere in our powerful community here at DU. One dealt with suspicions of some posters and the other with favorite posters. Of course we should be alert to trolls, but at the same time we cannot hurt the innocent who love this website. DU is my go to first thing in the morning. I look for content of the post and not who posted it. I discern if it is legit or just trolling. I have had many to declare some of my post as clickbait and ripped if there is the slightest error in spelling. Understanding that we need to maintain a level of professionalism, petty grammar policing of what amounts to as rapid typing errors is not necessary. If brought my attention, I try to correct it or thank the poster for the alert. Some, however, want it to be a brutal assault. I love this website and often scour the internet to find things that I think our community will find interesting, realizing that some do not all have the same access. We are an awesome force in the fight against the destruction of the under-served and the maintaining of the values of our democracy. I love DU and will still be here to do my small part in the information war. Peace.

1. If I were to name the troll posts of recent days, those two would NOT be the two I named.

Though there have been some others, ones that made fun of Democrats, that DID seem clearly to be trolls.

But that's just me.

You are calling one of those posters a troll simply because they approach DU slightly differently than you do. I have also noted posters I like over the years. Does that make me a troll? I am fairly certain you have done the same at times. And for what its worth, I am also highly suspicious of some of the posts that have been put on here in recent days by "suddenly returned" posters that were clearly aimed at dividing. So I guess I'll be accused of trollery now.

2. Stretch the truth. I never indicated the poster was a troll. Maybe you have a different definition

Multiple times. Sorry if they happened to be someone you "knew" here.

Though they do always seem to end in hurt feelings.

The other you mention.....

Yet yours here continues that same trend.

It was kind of funny to watch those who got punked by the fake flattery. I thought it was obvious trolling.

10. There's a few like that. The obvious trolls, that is.

A small cadre of around 8-10 well-entrenched posters. Some of them are young (join-date-wise) but the majority are high-post-low-content who exist almost solely to +1 each others' posts. Racking up 50k+ posts of juiced-up "+1" comments and vicious attacks on any viewpoints that run contrary to an OP or whatnot. From a sociologists point of view, it's incredibly interesting to watch. As a Democrat or a human being with more than two connected neurons, slightly less so.

9. I have both heartily agreed....

.... and have adamantly disagreed with a lot of posts here at Democratic Underground. I have zero doubt that those posts that I have agreed with and disagreed with have come from many of the same posters. Thing is, I really don't remember, but it has proven one thing to me. People are never right all the time, nor are they wrong all the time. For me, and although I am familiar with many of the names here, it is the content of the post and not the poster that takes precedence because I have neither the time nor the patience to keep score. I like everybody......... most of the time.
I have only one person on ignore, and you would probably laugh at the reason why, which reminds me, maybe I should take them off of ignore to see if they're still doing the same thing that bugged me so much that I put them on ignore in the first place.
