Scoop: Trump fears Biden 2020, losing Pennsylvania

-snip-

Trump advisers says Biden, like the president, conveys authenticity, is comfortable in his own skin, can work a crowd, and relishes throwing and returning punches.

Biden could — and would — needle Trump, and get under his skin, with a brio that few other big-name Democrats could muster.

He has kept his connection to his birthplace — Scranton, Pa., emblematic of the working-class, Rust Belt territory that joined Trump Country in 2016.

A Democratic source close to Biden said he'd be strong with "Obama-Trump voters" in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin where "the blue wall became the red threat" — Obama won them twice, then they flipped narrowly to Trump.

in the school yard? How old is Biden? I say "Red Herring"

I think he's terrified of WOMEN and that's who will bring him down.

4. Biden is a good guy and a great campaigner...I would vote for him. I am a woman and wanted a woman

president but I don't know if a women can get elected at the moment...we need to win. I worry about Biden's age but if Sen. Sanders can run, I suppose so can Biden.

3. Biden does have a great knack for some one-liners

he basically flattened Rudy Giuliani when he said that Rudy was only "A Noun, A Verb and 9/11"

Or, after bin Laden was killed, he said that they would only need to say that their 2012 campaign slogan was that they "Saved GM and Killed bin Laden" (or was it vice versa)

Those are the sort of things you need in the debate - sharp zingers like that. While Hillary delivered some one liners, she doesn't have the natural ease with it like Biden.

10. Yup, Biden's strengths are good quips, likeable personality, and respectability

All of which would nail Trump's weaknesses

Trump wants a nasty shouting match of a campaign, Biden's ability to shut him down with a smile and a joke would be a knockout punch.

As for PA, it's rural revolt vs Philly turnout. Biden is well known and liked in Phillyand will help save the state even if the rural areas stay with Trump (which based on personal observation, might very well happen as long as the economy stays good)

“Biden could — and would — needle Trump, and get under his skin, with a brio that few other big-name Democrats could muster.”

I can’t bring myself to even respect this thought process.

And Swalwell would be a winning ticket.

As much as I wish we could get a woman or minority in office, I think 2020 will not be the time yet to run one again.

11. Sure he could beat Trump...if the playing field is at least mostly fair

But so could a few others.

I'm a Bernie supporter, but its not a cult of personality despite the accusations from the haters, it is his long needed policy positions. But there are younger contenders out there with the same principles that would wipe the floor with the Don.

We need new blood now. Neither Biden nor Sanders should run. But if Biden or Sanders won the primary...I'd back them 100%.

I wonder what this place would be like if Sanders actually won the next primary?
