Rep Ted Lieu: Dear Sec Nielsen: You should read this article. Then you should resign.

A "tender age" six-year-old girl was forced to sign this document after being sexually abused in an immigrant detention center while separated from her mother.

This trauma would not have happened to the little girl but for the fact that your agency ripped her away from her parents and placed her in a facility without adequate supervision.

there is a mandated reporting law out there that requires all people working with vulnerable people (children and adults) to report to authorities any instances of abuse they become aware of. It does surprise me that a report was made on the tRump administrations watch since they do nothing that is legal. My guess is that they are unaware of the Mandated Reporting law.

NOTE: It would be interesting to see if a safety plan was developed for this little girl, as the law requires.

this is some error, clinician personal practise for therapeutic purposes? or...fake news?

What about a 5 year old, 4, 3, 2,1... makes no sense...color me skeptical.

is there to protect especially those victims. I have worked with children in a school setting and later with adults with developmental disabilities where I made reports to the Ombudsman office on several occasions. I had one report that I made on behalf of an elderly friend living in a nursing home. All of these people cannot report without help.

Here is a more complete explanation of that law:

"Mandatory reporting is when a person is required by law to report abuse. Typically doctors, counselors, teachers, who are required to report child abuse. Certain 'authorities' in society (USA) have been designated by Law as "Mandatory Reporters"

A lot of people are tired of the comparison, but the nazis were guilty of horrific acts against children during WWII. Heck, it even continued after the war:

Where is the messaging from the Democratic Party that shows how democrats are the ones trying to help reunite the parents with the Kids. Its not trump supporters helping/ volunteering. I hear there are volunteers going down to the countries the parents where deported to in that scenario and are trying to find the parents. Im dead certain that Democrats are the ones that are driving this and volunteering.

Get the message out there. Good grief I feel our National Party is paralyzed and wont do anything because they are afraid of doing the wrong thing. There are some safe messages.

The Trump government set up the circumstances with their original abuse and crime - kidnapping children - for all the abuses and crimes occurring within those circumstances.

I'm beyond disgusted and angry at government being treated as if it isn't committing crimes when it commits crimes.

....the rape of this 6yrold child is on him, as well as any injury and God forbid deaths of children under his charge. The " letter" should be addressed to donald trump, this is his crime against children for which there is no perdon. And, when this odious mal hombre ( bad, evil man) is impeached, the articles must include the charge of crimes against children.

Yes, orhers are responsible and should be charged, yet they are following donald trump's orders. Instead of a letter, donald trump should be arrested and charged with crimes against children, against humanity.
