Danny O'Connor, OHIO12th is scaring the GOP. Pence to campaign against him.

That district is ruby red & gerrymandered, given that the special election is Tue AUGUST 7, Pence being there on Mon July 30, tells me the GOP is worried & trying to pump up awareness & get their voters out.

"The special election is being viewed by many as a barometer on Trump and a harbinger of November mid-term elections. It also emphasizes the importance of turnout in unusual late-summer election to determine a congressional seat in a district Trump carried by 11 points."

The two candidates are locked in a bitter race to replace Republican Pat Tiberi, who represented the district for 17 years before leaving Congress in January to take a position with the Ohio Business Roundtable. The district has been held by a Republican since 1982.

Underscoring the stakes central Ohio's Aug. 7 special congressional election, Vice President Mike Pence will campaign Monday in Newark for Republican state Sen. Troy Balderson in his bid to represent the 12th district in Washington.
Pence announced his impending appearance in a tweet Friday, the same day new campaign finance filings from both candidates showed Democrat Danny O'Connor outpacing Balderson.

Last time I looked OConnor was down double digits. Does he have a shot? redstateblues Jul 2018 #1
I think O'Connors team released an internal poll a couple days ago showing him trailing by 2 points. bearsfootball516 Jul 2018 #2

His advertising can add Incumbant O'Connor. Like that guy in Penn., Connor Lamb, O'Connor is the best Dem challanger, since that district flipped red, John Kasich got it in 82. The Dispatch article has more info about the history of that diistrict.
Early voting has had very heavy Dem turnout.
Please where did you see down by double digits? I'm curious. Thanks

They are coming after him hard and dirty with tv ads. The ads are constant and hateful and nasty. There has to be a ton of $$ coming from whoever or wherever to be running the staggering number of ads against O’Connor. I keep telling Mr Allie that O’Connor needs to get bolder in his ads against Balderson. Wish I could vote for O’Connor.

I know many states are not. Experts say by mid-terms, we may be in a recession. The economy for us not so rich citizens is slowly tanking.
