... On their own admission, Assange's legal team are in the dark about any negotiations that might be going on about Assange's future.

The irony is that Assange fears extradition to a country whose President proclaimed himself a big fan of WikiLeaks when running for office. Donald Trump mentioned WikiLeak's hacking of Hillary Clinton's emails more than 100 times in the last month of the 2016 election campaign. At one point he said: "I'll tell you this Wikileaks stuff is unbelievable. It tells you the inner heart, you gotta read it."

He even went so far as to say: "I love WikiLeaks" ...

LONDON, (Reuters) – Discussions over the future of Julian Assange, who has been holed up in the Ecuadorean embassy in London for six years, are ongoing but the matter was not discussed during a recent visit by Ecuador’s President Lenin Moreno, a British government spokesman said yesterday ...

7. Ecuador denies Assange ordered out

Jul 2018

... The government issued a statement saying "that the president of the republic, Lenin Moreno, has at no time ordered the departure of Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian embassy in London."

The statement comes after Moreno reportedly told journalists in Madrid that Ecuador was seeking guarantees that whatever Assnge's eventual fate, the Australian would not face the death penalty.

Moreno, who came to power last year, confirmed negotiations with Britain took place earlier this month, and described Assange as an "inherited problem" ...

9. Ecuador Prepares to Hand Over Julian Assange to the UK

Jul 2018

... Speaking in Spain after a three-day visit to the UK, Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno, who had previously referred to Assange as a “stone in our shoe”, confirmed that his government had been in talks with the British government to end his stay in the embassy.

While a UK government spokesperson reportedly said that the matter was not discussed with Morneo during his recent visit London .. Glenn Greenwald wrote that the real purpose of his trip was “to meet with British officials to finalize an agreement under which Ecuador will withdraw its asylum protection of Julian Assange.. eject him from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London; and then hand over the WikiLeaks founder to British authorities” ...

On July 21, RT had reported that Ecuador was ready to hand over Assange to the UK authorities in “coming weeks or even days”, citing unnamed sources ...

The British have refused to confirm whether or not the US has filed a formal request for Assange’s extradition. However, US Attorney General Jeff Sessions had said last year that Assange’s arrest was a “priority”. Assange claims that a sealed indictment has already been prepared by the US – a claim the latter has repeatedly refuse to confirm or deny.

US intelligence services have also concluded that Wikileaks had assisted Russian intelligence in its alleged bid to interfere in the 2016 US elections ...

10. Correa: 'Assange's Days in Ecuadorean Embassy Are Numbered'
Sat Jul 28, 2018, 01:32 PM
Jul 2018

Ecuador's former president Rafael Correa said in an interview with RT Saturday that Julian Assange’s days in the Ecuadorean embassy in London are numbered, a claim which contradicts the statements made by Lenin Moreno Friday.

“You can be certain that this man, who is an absolute hypocrite, already has an agreement with the US about what will happen to Assange. And now he's just trying to sweeten the pill by saying he's going to have a dialogue… I fear, I fear, and I have said months ago, that Assange’s days in the embassy are numbered,” Correa affirmed ...

In January Assange was granted Ecuadorean citizenship. Moreno has stated that he did not make that decision, stressing it was former foreign affairs minister, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, who gave Assange citizenship ...

Published: 28th July 2018 07:22 PM

... The Ecuador President had recently made a statement in Spain that nobody should remain in an asylum "for too long."

"I have never been in favour of Assange's activity," Moreno had said at an event in Madrid earlier this week.

"I have never agreed with the interventions in people's private emails in order to obtain information, however valuable it may be, to bring out certain undesirable acts of governments or people, not in that way.

There are correct and legal ways to do it," he had said ...

With 45 in office all Assange needs to do is go on Faux and Friends and Hannity to seek a pardon and it will be done.

He doesn't need to be concerned about going to jail now.

... Julian Assange had several private direct message twitter exchanges with Donald Trump Jr. during the course of the campaign. In analyzing all of those, Martin Longman reached the conclusion that Wikileaks looked like a Russian front organization.
Julian Assange also had several private direct message twitter exchanges with Roger Stone, who has admitted that he is the “U.S. person” described in the latest Mueller indictments that communicated regularly with both the Trump campaign and the Russian hackers.

Based on the latest Mueller indictments, it is clear that Julian Assange and the Russians coordinated the timing of the release of the DNC emails to coincide with the Democratic Convention in order to sow conflict between Sanders and Clinton supporters ...
