1. there are some good articles in the articles forum on climate change and the way the media

particularly TV news Media reports it and how they do report what is happening but mostly avoid mentioning climate change. because it's boring, it's offensive to right wingers etc.

6. Actually saw on

the news last night a climate expert saying get use to this (fires and big floods) all over the world because of climate change. Think it was NBC evening news.

2. Thank heaven there's a caption. I thought at first it was a photo of casualties.

Remarkable that the exhausted firefighters sleep exposed on the ground, instead of availing themselves of the comfort and shelter of the house they've saved.

3. Could be that the homeowners

were evacuated, and had left the place locked up. I'd bet that the firefighters would be given the red carpet treatment if it were possible.

4. One of the first rules...

Don't touch other peoples' stuff... and they were so exhausted that this is what happens sometimes. It's what life is like on the fireline.

5. Let's see some real appreciation

I'd like to see fire fighters celebrated and honored at a football game for once, instead of just the military. Soldiers aren't the only Americans who put their lives on the line.

7. I agree!

My brother in-law was one of those firefighters in California for about twenty-five years. Very difficult and dangerous work for sure. He is retired as a Captain. His body couldnít handle the difficult work anymore. He works for them I think on a contact basis though helping when they need rehab work done on fire stations. He doesnít miss the firefight-it became to difficult for him, but Iím sure he misses the brotherhood.

12. At some games they honor first responders

But yes, it should be a lot more often.
