Anyone Remember Who The Drill Baby Drill Party Was? Anyone In Redding California?

I can't seem to remember whether it was Democrats or Republicans who's campaign theme was drill baby drill.

The faster the ice melts the more money some stockholders were going to be, or something like that.....

in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Not likely that Redding folks were in favor of that since California had banned offshore drilling for decades.

And not cool to pick on a community in crisis like Redding...

"Drill, baby, drill!" was a 2008 Republican campaign slogan first used at the 2008 Republican National Convention[1] by former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele, who was later elected Chairman of the Republican National Committee.[2] The slogan expressed support for increased drilling for petroleum and gas as sources of additional energy and gained further prominence after it was used by Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin during the vice-presidential debate.

those lyrics at all her rallies. Drill, Baby Drill brought thunderous applause from her supporters, enabled book and TV offers but did not move the needle--Thank God--in the 2008 election cycle.

Definitely Palin and the hard right. Not Democrats.

which is why they don't give a shit about climate change, and are going to keep drilling until the bitter end. Stupid and sinful.
