or do Republicans just want to make sure it doesn't step foot outside Massachusetts? Just curious because despite being virtually the same basic law (including the dreaded "MANDATE" or "TAX"-depending on how you want to define it) as PPACA, I have not heard anybody seriously complain about "Romneycare" nor call for its repeal (or even challenge it in court) despite all of the stuff that has been flung around PPACA. Is it just a matter of "What becomes law in Massachusetts, stays in Massachusetts?", craven hypocrisy (because a REPUBLICAN championed it and signed it into law), or do Republicans basically believe that people in the other 49 states shouldn't have things any better in their states than Massachusetts does?
Or are there other reason(s) for tolerating it in Massachusetts but not nationally? Do Republicans even realize (or care) that one of their own, Paul Ryan, basically modeled his Medicare deform after PPACA?

(9,464 posts)And for all the GOP comments about the ACA being a "job-killer", Mass has an unemployment rate of 6.0%, 2.3% lower than the national average. And we just passed a bill to control the rise in health care costs.
Edit to add: Of course, many Mass Republicans would be considered liberals in other parts of the country. Mittens ran as one of those types of Repubs here, then did a turnabout shortly after he was elected.
