(Edited for the idiots who are implying I'm being nosy and wondering what she's doing. I don't care about that, I'm just saying I'm tired of waiting for her show and then hearing another "she has the night off" just like the night before.)

(62,444 posts)And if you look back at DU posts, her vacation last year was the first week of August as well.
How would you like millions of people to know what you were up to in your free time?

(7,802 posts)and miss her when she's not there, I'll let her have her well deserved time off.
Does anyone else love the hand-off to Lawrence as much as I do? They seem like pals who genuinely like each other. She's just as warm with Chris H, but they don't have the same kind of banter and mutual admiration society. It's something that I make sure to watch every evening.

(1 post)Just wish they would say when she will return instead of jerking people off I can watch another program if I want but I want to watch Rachel Maddow, if this keeps up her show and msnbc is going to lose me for sure.

(7,990 posts)August 6th. I think she was only off this week; I like her show too. MSNBC isn't going to lose me for giving her time off. She has a right to a life of her own in addition to her work life. We all do.
Welcome to DU, btw.

(1,997 posts)When their top rated anchor is off, and they announce it in advance, people might not even bother tuning in. This way, some people might still watch as long as the TV is on MSNBC anyway.

(15,246 posts)Maddow and Williams were both off last week and Hayes was off the week before. MSNBC was juggling hosts all week. Melber filled in for Maddow, Velshi filled in for Melber, Wallace filled in for Williams, Heilman filled in for Wallace, Tur filled in for O'Donnell on Friday. Melber has really gotten on my last nerve lately so I tuned out Maddow's show this week. I wish they'd just allow Chris Hayes to have a 2 hour show (8-10) when Maddow's off.

(50,168 posts)I don't know if she has a home around here (near ski resorts), but she was spotted in the area a couple of years ago and it's not far from where she and Susan live. I know if I ever run into her I'll turn into a slobbering, disgusting groupie. LOL.
