What on earth is "soy boy" supposed to mean?

Just seen a mass debate on Facebook where the term "soy boy" was used as a political insult. What on earth is that supposed to mean?

I am familiar with most of the usual political insults like cuck, snowflake, gammon, centrist dad etc. All of which are garbage to varying degrees but "soy boy" is a new one on me.

The two main British political parties of the 18th century, the Tories and Whigs both took their names from political insults and I do wonder if in 15 years time we will have a general election contested by the gammon party, the snowflake party and the centrist dad party!

3. Urban Dictionary: males who lack masculine qualities
Thu Aug 2, 2018, 03:30 PM
Aug 2018
https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/soy-boy-insult-what-is-definition-far-right-men-masculinity-women-a8027816.html

From the website: The idea is that if you drink dairy-free milk alternatives, you are obviously weak and feminine (based on the thinking that soy products increase men’s oestrogen levels, even though this hasn’t been scientifically proven).

And then there’s the fact that soy is often used as a meat alternative, and as we all know, real men eat meat. And women only ever eat sad plates of salad.

According to Urban Dictionary, the term soy boy means: “Slang used to describe males who completely and utterly lack all necessary masculine qualities. This pathetic state is usually achieved by an over-indulgence of emasculating products and/or ideologies.“The origin of the term derives from the negative effects soy consumption has been proven to have on the male physique and libido.

“The average soy boy is a feminist, nonathletic, has never been in a fight, will probably marry the first girl that has sex with him, and likely reduces all his arguments to labeling the opposition as ‘Nazis’.”

What follows is from the Urban Dictionary. It's not pretty, it'll probably anger you (it did me), but it's the most accurate description of the term and its meaning:

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Soy%20Boy

"Slang used to describe males who completely and utterly lack all necessary masculine qualities. This pathetic state is usually achieved by an over-indulgence of emasculating products and/or ideologies.

"The origin of the term derives from the negative effects soy consumption has been proven to have on the male physique and libido.

I mean, the most common form of quiche (at least in the US) is basically a ham & eggs pie.

Real Men(tm) eat ham.

Real Men(tm) eat eggs.

Real Men(tm) eat pie.

What is unmanly about putting them all together? Quiche es más macho.

Call it Aunt Sally's Ham & Eggs Pie and you'll have the Duck Dynasty fan club scarfing them down and telling you how it's so much more manly than that frou-frou "quiche", even if it's the same thing.

It's an insult that took off after a particularly bad episode of "Question Time", a terrible BBC political debate programme which had an audience with an unnaturally large number of angry red faced Tory councillors pretending to be ordinary members of the public.

Incels hate women so much that they are unable to have sex, and they blame their not having sex on women, which is why they hate women. (They also make up some crap about them being too ugly to ever have sex, unless it's rape.)

Incels believe that men can be "chad"s (handsome guys who have sex at least 3 times a day, each time involving multiple female partners, or "femoids" as they call women). Mother nature made Chads soooooo sexy it's really unfair for poor incels. This always includes lots of homoerotic talk.

Anyway, there is another group of men who are not Chads. They call them "soy boys". They are skinny, effeminate, empathic, friendly, liberal, kind, etc. Incels say that soy boys don't know how to treat "feminoids", i.e. that you must treat women like shit if you're a man. Soy boys are apparently like that because they eat soy, which contains some stuff that is related to estrogen or something.

Well, not sure if I got that right, their world view is simply too fucked up.

I'm actually serious. It's amazing how scaled-down these "men's" lives are. So many weigh 320 lbs.-plus, are divorced or single, have minimal education, hold menial jobs (or none at all), love guns, motorcycles, trucks, NFL crap, muscle cars...you don't have to be Sigmund Freud to detect the overall theme here.
