The first two Star Wars movies would have been boring without the quintessentially evil Darth Vader. The third movie became boring when Darth turned all soft and feely. The emperor, with his purple lightning, was a pretty good substitute, but he didn't last long enough. The stupid Ewoks ruined what was left of the movie.

The Imperial March sounds like something Anton Bruckner (1824 – 1896) might have written. It became known as Darth Vader's theme when it was introduced (in the second movie). This music lets you know that something very bad is about to happen.

He would immediately do a 180 and nix the plans.

Show him a fake news article written by Maggie Haberman. He'd buy it hook, line and sinker.

My nephew works for NASA and a space force has been discussed as a possibility for some time now, preceding Trump.

I think it's stupid - first, because Trump said it, and second, because it gives even more money to defense contractors. But I don't believe the idea originated with the Orange One.

... and I respect his opinion. Kelly says why undermine everything the US Air Force is already doing?
And, yes it would be another money-grab for the defense contractors.

That is the biggest laugh I've had today. Maybe all week.

A cartoonist who can reference the cult classic movies "Laserblast", "The Hidden", and the John Carpenter version of "The Thing", while tying in the actual dates of the Roswell event and Donald Trump's birth, all in the same panel, is a genius.

... to see if idjit trDump would fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

Idjit trDump would proclaim to the world that it was his best - best - best idea he ever thought of to protect the Galaxy and America with this Space Force - (boondoggle bullshit idea).

Biden would be in the background wetting himself laughing at the mendacity of idjit trDump - then weeks later leaking to the media that he left the bogus Space Force plans in a binder on a bookshelf in the Oval Office for trDump to stumble upon.

Because I'm still trying to answer why a 'space force' is better for me than:

- Health care
- Social Security
- Infrastructure upgrades
- Affordable college

Seriously, I'm just mystified about why this nation should need a space force, when Americans have these other needs.

In a country where the government is supposed to be of, by and for the people, how come my tax dollars can't be spent on services that actually make my life and the lives of my family better?

I'm going to lead with that question now every time I call my US Senators and Representative.

I believe we already have a space force, or at least what we really need in that regard. Just look at all the satellite launches from the past where it was said the unit was "classified military". Probably, only our military and the NSA people really know what's up there, but I suspect it's massive. Trump is playing his base for fools.

My fear is they will use this to redirect funding from much needed scientific and climate research that NASA and NOAA needs to be doing for us.
