Manafort trial - Defense rests w/o calling a single witness.

Unusual. Closing arguments tomorrow.

The investigation needs a win on this, or will give Trump's team more fodder to claim "witch hunt! witch hunt!"

3. What do you mean?

I think we all know he'll be pardoned, if found guilty. But it's important that the jury finds guilt. It sounds like the evidence is there, so I'm hoping. Although...this is complicated stuff for ordinary Americans. A good prosecution can connect the dots, though, so I hope....

5. Manafort is probably confident of a full pardon

There is always the chance they know there is at least one member of the jury who will not vote to convict. A hung jury would require a second trial, where the defense will claim political persecution. If Trump fires Mueller, there would be no second trial.

2. They must figure their best defense is arguing that the prosecution didn't prove their case.

And then they hope a juror agrees.

It's also possible a juror has been bought off or threatened. Putin has a long reach.

That's hard.

6. With the amount of documentary evidence, inc Manafort's signatures, it shouldn't be, but all you

need is one Trumper/Idiot to screw it up.

9. Yes, Harry Litman was just alluding to the same thing on MSNBC. Zero chance of an acquittal but it

just takes one to block a guilty verdict.
