There's a tense exchange as two Jurors (No 6 and No 2) cannot agree with the 10 others.

Juror No 3: “For God’s sake, why don’t you see the overwhelming evidence before your own eyes?”

Juror No 6: “All I see is fake news and it’s very sad, you lowlife, low IQ dog!”

Juror No 10: “What about the witness testimony?”

Juror No 2: “Are you an illegal? Are you from one of those shithole countries that are sending rapists and murderers? Maybe you are a Muslim. Can I see your birth certificate? You shouldn’t even be here! That’s why we need a wall! Build a wall! (chanting) Build a Wall!”

Juror No 10: “Let’s calm down and stick to the facts, shall we?.”

Juror No 6: “There's truth and there's facts. I’ll give you some alternative facts. We’ve got 10 angry Democrats who have listened to fake news in the courtroom and two white nationalists doing their patriotic duty to find reasonable doubt.”

Juror 12: “What about the mountain of documentation that proves the case?”

Juror No 2: "Fake! This is all part of an illegal witch hunt to damage the greatest president who is making America Great Again.”

At this point, the recording was interrupted - End of transcription.

Yes, this is a joke, but what is to prevent this from happening when over 40% of the nation still say they approve of Trump?

8. I know this is a joke...but

I really have a bad feeling that Manafort’s going to walk. The jury's questions for the judge today gave me a knot in my stomach. If Manafort is acquitted, there are forces at work here that we can’t even comprehend. Papadapoulis is considering withdrawal of plea deal...seems like something worse than normal is swirling.

It gave my heart a start. I want nothing more than to be celebrating a Manafort conviction with all of you here on DU....but with the Russians and Deplorables lurking everywhere, I am more than cautious.

11. It only takes one. I'm old enough to remember the Harrisburg 8 (or was it 7?)

Old case from the Viet Nam era. A number of antiwar activists were on trial for some trumped up reason or other (don't remember). The government selected one of the four (out of 66) counties in PA that voted for Goldwater to try the case and a judge (J. Dixon Herman) who was a wingnut judge who was totally biased against the defense. The defense presented no witnesses or evidence at all, and the jury was still 11-1 to acquit on all charges. The one for conviction was a wingnut who lied to get on the jury and was going to vote guilty on all counts from before the first gavel in the courtroom.
