Hard convos in classrooms because of all the shootings. Here is a snippet of mine.

District makes us play a Run Hide Fight video then have a serious discussion.

IT is not something to take lightly. When parents put their children on a bus, they expect they will come home in the same condition as they left.

Today after showing the RHF video we talked.

At one point after we had talked about things we can/should do no cell phone noise, hide in a corner as low as possible-resist the urge to be nosey, to be quiet and comfort each other so no one is screaming and crying drawing attention to the fact that there are people in the classroom.

I told the students if it gets dire enough to where we are fighting, to let me be the first in line. I told them it was my classroom and my kids are grown and I have lived a full life, let me be the at risk target if it means the students can run to get away.

One kid said, that means you might die. I said yes it does.

Another kid said "that's fucked up" I said yes it is. (I didn't even bother to correct the f word)

I said unfortunately it is the world we live in now.

Another kid said "we are just a middle school and we are in the sorta country so it won't happen here)

I said It CAN absolutely happen here, in fact last year there was a kid with a gun on the bus and in the school. We also prevented two possible incidents because they posted on social media their plans and enough students saw something and said something.

I also pointed out that if something went down , it could likely be a student sitting in a classroom getting this very same information so they would know the safety plans. Makes it more difficult.

These kids are 12-14 I never thought this would be a conversation for a classroom when I started teaching.

it was not the time to correct that word. Especially since he was saying it was fucked up that I would put my life on the line.

Hell, when I was in high school, the guys would have guns proudly displayed in the gun rack attached to the back window of their redneck trucks.

No one ever held the thought of taking them inside.

It was in Jersey City, 2006. There were prior shootings inside the building.

It is the reality of living under the horror of absolute conservative control. They control every branch of our government. Our democracy is under siege and they have masterfully divided enough of us over petty issues to seize control and reshape the world we believed in. There are no superheros that will save the day. If you are not with them, you are the enemy. This is it. Their reality is the horror of living under their rules. And they don't give two shits about public school children. Money and power rule, above all else.

Welcome to Biffvielle's 24/7 reality show.

Just because you used the first sentence you did, does not mean that validates the rest of what you say. You can't start a post out asking for a respectful conversation, and end it with PSYOPS and talk of illumanti.

If that's what you mean in earnest, then rephrase what you're saying in such a way that makes sense. Because as it stands right now, what is posted is likely troll copy-pasta garbage. I'm all for open conversation, but what you've posted is not.

Transfer it to a container you can use for pouring and set it on a warm—but not hot—place on or near the stovetop.

Not the WORLD we live in. Many places around the world don't have these problems.

It's the COUNTRY we live in.

The discussion should be about why this is the case and how we can change it.

Repeal the 2nd amendment.

The same flat-earthers who claim to be "pro-life" are also pro-gun, and they're too stupid to notice that guns are pro-death.

The fundies and catholics only care about unborn fetuses: They couldn't care less about actual living, breathing children.

we will have a 2nd amendment discussion but not yet.

This week-the first 3 days of school, I needed to get their understanding so we could be safe
