At Lyft, were working to improve lives by connecting people and their communities through the worlds best transportation. This Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 6), we want to help people across America exercise their right to vote.
It is estimated that over 15 million people were registered but didnt vote in 2016 because of transportation issues.1 Thats why were committed to providing 50% off rides across the country, and free rides to underserved communities that face significant obstacles to transportation.2 More details on our plan:
Across the country, well give away 50% off promo codes with our partners that encourage voter turnout. Were thrilled to be working with Vote.org, Nonprofit Vote, TurboVote and more to help distribute codes to those who need them. Well also have a product integration to help passengers find their polling location.
For underserved communities, well provide rides free of cost through nonpartisan, nonprofit partners, including Voto Latino, local Urban League affiliates, and the National Federation of the Blind.

(89,244 posts)6. these services offer discounts other times also. i don't think it affects the driver's pay if they
pick up a customer using the discount.
at least not directly. for example picking up someone using a discount will not mean less pay than if they had picked up someone not using a discount at the same time/place.
same as if you used a discount coupon at a restaurant , store or some other business.

I vote in Dallas and will be in Germany on election day. Maybe I should just send in my absentee ballot after all. They might not have me home in time for dinner without breaking a speed limit or two.
