(11,637 posts)Freitag comes from Freyas Tag (Day) like Wednesday comes from Wodins Tag (Day).
Freya was a goddess from mythology.

(3,666 posts)ASTOUNDINGLY, the Post reporter sort of bends over backwards to try to absolve the Trump people of any direct blame for this, saying, for example:
"Miller did not respond to requests for comment, and there is no indication he worked closely with Smith or was aware of his associations with white supremacists."
And I've got this lovely bridge in San Francisco that I can sell you for a song and a dance, my friend.
But okay, maybe just maybe a little journalistic caution is required in attributing knowledge of this all to Miller and his boss Donald, especially if you want to preserve your access to said miscreants.
But then there is this strange refusal to even directly attribute antisemitic attitudes toward the Nazi asshole himself. The reporter says, for example:
"The emails cited by the Atlantic do not include any explicitly racist statements made by Smith, but they do suggest he was comfortable enough within the milieu of American white nationalism to refer to its leading figures on a first-name basis."
Seriously? Saying "they don't call it Freitag for nothing" in response to the claim that the party will be "judenfrei" is not enough of an explicitly racial statement for the Washington Post? You have got to be kidding me.
