Lawyers of "young George" beg judge for mercy and accuse Jeff Sessions of lying under oath.

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/9/1/1792537/-Breaking-Papadopoulos-says-Sessions-Trump-okayed-Kremlin-connection-wife-begs-for-pardon

The memo, in which the lawyers attempt to get the judge on a first-name basis with “young George,” is here. Money quote:

Eager to show his value to the campaign, George announced at the meeting that he had connections that could facilitate a foreign policy meeting between Mr. Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. While some in the room rebuffed George’s offer, Mr. Trump nodded with approval and deferred to Mr. Sessions who appeared to like the idea and stated that the campaign should look into it.

Thus he’s saying that Sessions lied to Congress, not to mention the public, about his involvement.

...

On March 14, 2016, George met London-based college Professor Joseph Mifsud while traveling in Italy.

Because the first thing you do, two weeks or less into your dream job, is go on vacation in Italy. Sheeyure. And then he just happened to meet a Kremlin agent.

...

Donald Trump publicly named George as one of his campaign’s foreign policy advisors on March 21, 2016, boasting to reporters: “He’s an energy and oil consultant, excellent guy.” Three days later, on March 24, 2016, George met again with Professor Mifsud in London

Two vacations in the first month of his dream job! Ehh, no. He was clearly on assignment.

...where he introduced George to a young woman named Olga, who Professor Mifsud claimed was a relative of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Professor Mifsud and Olga led George to believe that they had the wherewithal to set up a meeting between the Trump campaign and Russian government officials.

...

To say George was out of his depth would be a gross understatement. Despite being a young energy policy guru, he had no experience in dealing with Russian policy or its officials.

I need to add here that naive, clueless young George got a bachelor’s degree in political science then went on to study public policy, international law and national security to obtain a masters in security studies.

...

Instead, when FBI agents questioned him in January 2017, he lied to them. One of the two reasons given is total selfishness with which he asks the judge is asked to sympathize, and the second throws Trump under the bus again:

Caught off-guard by an impromptu interrogation, Mr. Papadopoulos misled investigators to save his professional aspirations and preserve a perhaps misguided loyalty to his master.

The sentencing memo never admits that George told the campaign about the Russian “dirt” on Hillary, however. The Foreign Minister of Greece, yes, in May of 2016, but not the campaign. Sheeyure.

And I think Sessions has already told Mueller everything , and has been talking to him for awhile. That's why trumps been especially harsh against Sessions now talking about firing him, but he can't. Young George is telling them all now too. That's another reason trump knows its over for him. Too many have already turned, and probably many more very close to him are talking to Mueller too, even family maybe. They'll turn on him too because they can't trust him , and he's hated. The walls are caving in on him , and anyone helping him now. They'll be charged for conspiring with him and putin. Aiding and abetting , and helping an enemy.

cretins, thieves, and treasonous scumbags, you shouldn't be surprised when they turn on you. Everyone is out for him/herself especially when faced with the prospect of going to prison.

Subhead: As reporters worked out the real identity of the woman a Trump advisor hoped could connect him to the Kremlin, her social media accounts started going private.

The Daily Beast - Katie Zavadski - 11.10.17

"The Russian national introduced to a senior Trump campaign foreign policy advisor as President Vladimir Putin’s niece, “Olga Vinogradova,” was really a 30-something wine company manager named Olga Polonskaya, as first reported by The New York Times on Friday.

"George Papadopoulos, the Trump advisor, met her understanding that she would use her supposed family connections to introduce him to her contacts in the Russian government, according to court documents made public last month showing that he had been arrested in July and pled guilty to making false statements to the FBI. White House officials have since sought to downplay Papadopoulos’s importance to the campaign..."

Evidence and speculation indicates he had Russian contacts since the 80's.
