Witnesses to their own execution?

The Republicans never want to piss off the "Trump base" because it might threaten their next election. Likewise, they don't want to piss off Donald Trump to the point where he might tweet about them. They are torn between the two positions.

But, they don't seem to realize that in the process of saving the Trump Party, they are demolishing their own Republican Party. They are being taken over by the narcissist vulgarian. They are gambling with the survival of their long-established Party to save Trump and his illiterate base.

Unfortunately, they have become one Party indistinguishable from Donald Trump. He is them and they are everything that he stands for. They continue to march closer and closer to the edge of the cliff.

And the Trumpers in Congress are slowly destroying this country.

Democrats are the ones who are fighting to save this country and all that it stands for.

Trump is the culmination not the origin. The White House under the Republican was a series of increasing lawlessness. Nixon resigned in disgrace, his vice president was a convicted crook and his burglars went to jail. A long come Regan whose cabinet and some 24 in his administration were convicted and many served jail sentences. One of the man henchmen that disgraced the Marine Corp is no the daring leader of NRA. Bush along with his cabinet led us into a war on absolute lies that cost the nation over 5,000 service people lives and thousands maimed for life. Trump isn't an aberration just the another rung in the ladder to a fascist dictatorship.

But the base will simply vote for the Freedom Party or the Liberty Party or however the GOP wishes to misrepresent its fascist self in the future.

have been on this path for decades. Over the years, they wooed apolitical, uninformed people with talk of morality, God, family, abortion, elite liberals, and fear just to get votes. They made promises that they never kept and this harmless base they created just to win elections took over their Grand Old Party and elected an idiot to be president.

They should have seen it coming, they created it.

Much like Rome succumbing to the Vandals...

Vandals who destroy everything without care for the void they will leave in their wake...or the ultimate ruin they will bring to civilizations and, ultimately, themselves.

Geeze. You make that sound like a bad thing.
