You'd think he'd have found a voice coach.

More on a par with John Edwards. Both John Edwards and Joe Leiberman were picked because it was thought they could generate excitement among some group. In Edwards' case, he was nowhere near the enthusiastic, charming candidate he was in the primaries. He failed to do several things the campaign asked him to and clearly intended to use the VP nomination to set himself up for 2008. Leiberman did create excitement in Jewish communities, but he was absolutely terrible in the debate with Cheney. He managed to make Cheney seem almost a nonthreatening grandfather type!

Palin lacked the character, temperment and intelligence to serve as president. Leiberman would have made decisions we would have hated on foreign policy. However, had Leiberman replaced McCain, a Republican President, we would have agreed with him on many issues - especially climate change. Replacing Al Gore, we would have hated that he was so hawkish, but that was not obvious back in 2000. Similarly, Edwards' character issues were not obvious in 2004.

After they lost, he wouldn't have had the opportunity to remove the single-payer Orion from Obamacare as a favor to his insurance-lobbyist wife.

A great eulogy Meghan. I may not agree with you on almost anything, but I feel your pain, and your eulogy was a great one

I know that's not saying much. Megan's eulogy for her dad is a tough act to follow.

And it points out how utterly without those qualities 45 is, and giving the GOP a reason to think about that.

Not an adherent of Joe's politics by any means, but I thought it was a fitting tribute from a close friend. Low key indeed after hearing Meghan, but the stories shared were respectful and even humorous at times.

I liked the speech and his anecdotes. He and John McCain were obviously very good friends. It just went on too long.

I.e, speaking about funny things that happened with mccain, rattling out anectodes in a monotone, uninspiring tone, going on forever.
