American democracy vs. ignorance

As of this moment, the orange creature, his minions, and a mob of the mindless are still in power.

They are doing everything to hold power by winning/stealing the upcoming congressional elections.

If the "Blue Wave" happens, we can tap on the brakes.

But if the Republicans hold control of the House and Senate, American democracy is in dire peril.

Face it. A minority of Americans control our country's fate. This is due to a combination of gerrymandering, voter suppression, "lost votes," and stolen votes. But, in the ultimate reality, it's due to countless ignorant people who are doing everything possible to fuck themselves out of health care and government assistance of any sort. They don't/can't understand that their votes determine their quality of life and their very existence. They don't/can't understand that the Kool-Aid is poisoned.

Come November, we'll find out if we're going to remain a relatively free society, or if fascism and tyranny will take another giant step forward. And don't think that we're not teetering on the edge. Unfortunately, there's no vaccine to protect against ignorance and/or self-destruction.

And, as a final thought, let me add this. I believe that underlying that ignorance and drive toward self-destruction is one single factor. -- A (conscious or subliminal) belief in "white supremacy." If that disease were to go away, many of the world's problems would also go away.
