Arby's sign featuring the N-word sparks investigation in Minnesota
Arby’s has apologized after the reader board at one of its Minnesota locations featured both a racial slur and a derogatory term for a prostitute. Those passing by the fast-food joint in Brooklyn Center, Minn., were shocked Saturday morning to find that the sign out front had been arranged to read, “Now hiring n----rs and w----s.”
The offending sign was spotted by officers at 7 a.m. and quickly taken down, according to local CBS affiliate WCCO-TV. A spokesman for the popular chain confirmed on Twitter that the location’s reader board had, in fact, been compromised.
“Someone put up a message that was extremely offensive,” the Twitter statement read. “The message has since been taken down. We’re cooperating with local law enforcement officials and will take appropriate action against those involved. We apologize to everyone exposed to that message.”
The Brooklyn Center, MN, Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on its involvement in the investigation.
