I would tread lightly when criticizing this compilation and its actors. They do a great job but would be much better if allowed to extend the series to spend more time on the various scenes. But, they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. I have been eagerly waiting #4, which will be shown in the U.S. on September 30th. Can't wait.

BTW, Poldark is a beautiful respite from Trump. Even the reruns have taken us out of the Doldrums of The Donald and kept us sane. Try it from the beginning. I'll bet you'll come to enjoy the story.

Harlequin romance? Naw!

But it does look like a high-class soap opera, and there's nothing wrong with that. So was Downton Abbey, which I loved.

I'm hoping they can show the entire series of books.

You have restored my faith in your opinions.

they are historical novels, way beyond a mere romance. About late 18th century Cornwall, tin and copper mining, rivalries, politics, and the relationships are a lot more complex than a romance.

I just completed reading all 12 books of the Poldark series a few months ago. The PBS series is following the books pretty closely, though without a lot of the detail.
