Wow!!!! TX Senator Cornyn just quoted authoritarian, federalist Hamilton about the virtues of a weak judiciary, "judges would have neither force nor will but merely judgement." He says they're gathered to see if Kavanaugh would "honor" that limited role and whether he would properly exercise "the modest and humble power of judgement entrusted to him under our constitution." That was Hamilton's wishful spin on the reality stated in the constitution.

Cornyn just stated in effect that Kavanaugh is being elevated to SCOTUS to undo over two centuries of decisions by the SCOTUS in our western liberal democracy. Everything since our first Justice John Jay helped define the role and function of the supreme court.
