Never mind who, the real question is why for the op ed

Why the op ed now by someone who supposedly thinks the administration has done much that is good (tax cuts, etc)? Why would anyone in the admin who is secretly trying to push through a conservative agenda while suppressing Trump's ignorance, paranoia and general nutball antics want to advertise publicly that they are doing it?

Maybe because the op ed was inspired by Congress, whose Republicans want to put distance between themselves and the screwballs in the White House? So they get an ex Congressman who is in the admin now to write the op ed so they can say to the voters, "See, we aren't half as crazy as Trump so you have to vote for us so we can keep him from going completely over the cliff."?

The problem with that, however, is that so far Congress hasn't stopped him from doing anything whatsoever. Are they getting ready to start?

It was either cancelled or reworked and Donnie went nuts. And this Tariff thing using 232 rules is about to throw our economy into recession. If it was Dan Coats, you know some very wealthy people are demanding change.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that it is a hoax: purposely written to expose the criminal intent of which those who have been protecting the president to further the right wing agenda are guilty.
