(62,269 posts)I've worked on these faux ceilings before, they're basically very thin aluminum bridges with tiles on them. They are not meant for people to ever climb on and are held up by tension wires. Most interiors of large buildings are like this, because it allows you to customize the space while obscuring the warehouse look of the actual ceiling of the building (and it allows you to place lighting and other stuff like air conditioning vents up there). Really difficult to work in, you have to stand on a tall ladder and take the tiles out and reach up to fix whatever is broken or to install stuff.
Anyway, those tiles collect a lot of dust and debris since no one ever messes with them for years on end, so the woman climbing around up there is going to cause dust to filter down, pieces of sheet rock will trickle down, etc. They're really dirty spaces. People will notice something is going on.
