Build that wall appears to be a fun thing to chant at Trump rallies, and last night was no exception. And according to President Donald Trump, if it was up to Trump, Trump would shut down the government over said wall. But Trump quickly realized that is up to Trump, so Trump isnt that sure.
Or so he said in an interview with Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth in front of his adoring Billings, Montana rally audience. Hegseth asked the Commander in Chief a number of questions, one of which focused on border security and the administrations threat to shut down the government in the name of building the wall, to which Trump replied:
We have to get Republicans. And we are getting the wall done, but I have so many people, good people, great people, they would rather not do it before, they would rather do it right after the election. They dont want to do anything to upset the applecart. And my inclination if it was up to me, I would shut down the government over border security.
And I guess when you get right down to it, it is up to me. I dont want to do anything potentially hurt us, I have a feeling that the Republicans we will do really well in the midterms between the tax cuts and all of the other things we have done.
