My strategy for the Democrats.

It is no secret but that most Democrats despise Donald Trump. But, in my opinion, it is a mistake to run against Donald Trump at this time. His support and his opposition are already baked into the equation.

It would be a preferable strategy, in my opinion, to run against the "do-nothing" Congress and Senate that have failed to do their jobs and have put our national security at risk. Mitch McConnell has put politics above country. He should be removed from office for betraying his oath to the Constitution. Paul Ryan is lost. He has no idea what his job is or how to do it. He has been a terrible disappointment, not just for Democrats, but for Republicans as well.

In my opinion, Democrats should be running against Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, rather than Donald Trump. Why? Because as the famous bank robber, Willie Sutton, once said, "that is where the money is."

No voter is going to be dissuaded or persuaded, one way or another, to change their opinion of Donald Trump. That is a dry well. But there are votes to be harvested by going after McConnell and Ryan.

to simply get out the vote is a viable strategy. If a voter will come out and vote because they dislike what they see in the actions of The "Esteemed" Mr Trump fine, if they come out to flip or hold onto a Congressional seat fine as well. The motivation is irrelevant, the voting not so much.

They may not make the effort, especially if the race is centered on overall Republican ineptness. Run against their weakness, not their strength.

4. It is NOT a do-nothing Congress. Please don't promulgate RW framing! It's REPUBLICANS.

It's the Do-Nothing Republicon Congress. They control the Legislative and Executive branches and yet they do nothing except enable and protect the traitor they created. Every time someone says or writes "do-nothing Congress" it plays into the meme that both sides are somehow to blame.

Paul Ryan is a lame duck. No point in running against him.

A big part of the point of keeping the tRump and Republicon brands welded together is to mobilize the MAJORITY who are anti-Trump and want him checked and disabled and not protected.

5. Yeah, I was probably wrong in calling them a "do-nothing Congress"...

They have actually done quite a lot.

But nothing that helps the majority of the people or the common good. Big tax cuts, de-regulation, humongous defense budgets, environmental destruction, etc.

But pretty much only Republicons have been doing that.

..most assume that to be talking about Republicans in Congress. But, your point is well-taken about how right-wing uses "do-nothing Congress" inclusively.
