Meet Delaware's GOP candidate for the United States House of Representatives

This guy won the Delaware GOP primary race for US Representative last night:

Scott Walker seeks sober house as he prepares another run for Congress in Delaware

"I need help with my addiction, right now" said Walker "I don't want to go through another night, I've have too much at stake. The people of Delaware would expect me to be in tip-top shape." Walker said he was seeking a sober living house in Georgetown. "It doesn't even have to be a bed. It can be on the floor, the couch, anything. I just need to be around people that I feel safe around, because that's what I need right now. I live with my wife, but I've not been able to conquer my alcoholism."

Walker said he couldn't afford rent for the sober living house, but several times said he is actively working on fundraising a campaign for Congress.

But, hey, why let being drunk get in the way of your campaign. He didn't find a sober house, but he DID win the primary:

Scott Walker wins Republican primary for Congress in Delaware

While many considered his campaign unorthodox, Scott Walker was able to pull out enough votes Thursday night to secure a win in Delaware's Republican primary for Congress.

As voter results rolled in from the Delaware Department of Elections, Walker saw a lead early on that eventually led to a victory over his opponent Lee Murphy, who previously appeared on the former Netflix series House of Cards, by a vote of 19,572 to 17,359.

"I'm very honored and humbled by support I have received, especially in Sussex County, and this just goes to show [you] what the power of prayer will do," Walker said. "I've got to get some rest tonight because early tomorrow morning I've gotta go to the east side of Wilmington and start hanging signs."

His signs, by the way, are hilarious.

He makes them himself out of scrap wood, paints his name and random slogans on them like "cut taxes" or "legal weed", and nails them to whatever is available (and often unwelcome, as he keeps accumulating fines).

No convertible for the parade? No problem......

1. These repugs are brazen in their grasp for power by any means.

2. It's also due to a lack of reasonable adults who want to get stuck to tRump-RubleCon tarbaby in 2018

5. True that

However, the DE GOP actually had a quasi-reasonable-on-the-surface candidate for the US Senate seat up this year. He was a relatively normal sounding former executive for a respected financial company.

But, alas, in that race too the DE GOP went for the Mr. Haney from Green Acres equivalent. The relatively sane GOP voter base in DE has simply given up. They were pretty surprised after the Christine "I'm not a witch" O'Donnell candidacy, but instead of resolving to not let it happen again, they have abandoned the field.

4. You gotta love his signs, though

I imagine he's going to make a whole new fresh crop of them and nail them to trees all over the place.

6. You know, I don't think I've ever seen (or paid attention) to his signs.

I'll have to keep a lookout for them now.

7. I'll see if I can get some pictures

Sometimes they are hard to spot, since he'll nail them to trees well off the road.

Here's a classic:

He paints them himself and nails them to trees.

8. Will he have a sober office in DC when the morans elect him?

Or will he just pass out on the floor of the House each night?

9. And let me guess

His race is rated as a Toss Up or Leans R.

I hope having this nitwit on the ballot depresses Republican turnout in November.

12. Good

I still hope Dimwit's presence on the ballot depresses Republicans. And their voter turnout.

14. It should

The GOP went for dimwits in the two top races on the general ballot, which is certain to depress turnout in the downballot races.

Woodsprite, for example, is fairly likely to get a new state representative, notwithstanding his years of incumbency (if I have the district line correct in my head - I'm just outside of his district). There's a narrow D majority in the DE state legislature which is likely to widen.

Some GOP incumbents are just dead bodies walking at this point.

10. Let's hope two Scott Walkers lose this election day

The one in Delaware and the jerk in Wisconsin

13. That's probably the only reason he gets any votes

...is because some voters think he's the same guy.
