If I'm correct, I believe Keith Olbermann requested that MSNBC at least give her a try. Anywho, a big congrats!

I'd put him in Chris Matthews' time slot. It'll never happen as long as Phil Griffin's there though.

Oh, well. If wishes were horses.

To be sure, it's been a few years: Their heyday was during Dubya's calamitous second term, as I recall.

I listened to them off and on while living in L.A. at the time. The ones I remember best were Rachel, Randi Rhodes, and Al Franken.

I remember their updates and discussion over the Iraq War, and their warnings early on that it was turning into not only a bloody boondoggle - but a trillion-dollar heist for Bush and his boys.

They were right, of course.

However, I listened to her on Air America and she always was very well prepared for her show.

I loved her book, Drift, which, as you may know, dealt with the increasingly craven use and abuse of our armed forces by power-hungry (and sometimes corrupt) presidents for their self-interest. Almost always GOPee presidents, of course.

Anything she says or writes, I've always found to be nothignshort of an education in itself.

my mom & i loved her on olbermann's show (we watched it every night) and my mom would sometimes comment: "she's such a pretty girl"

then rach got her own show that came on after keith's. so we'd watch that.

then i'd turn the computer on so we could listen to the mike malloy radio stream.

i guess we only watched rachel's show for a little over a year. my mom died and i couldn't bring myself to watch rachel, keith, or listen to malloy.

i know my mom would wish her a happy anniversary so ...happy 10th anniversary rachel maddow--from both of us!
