Obama's Speech About GOP Should Have Happened When He Was President.

I admire that class and restraint Obama had during his time in office. But his speech about Republican should have been given during his eight years in office. We might nave had different electoral outcomes had he taken the risk back then. And he should also attack McConnel & Ryaby name. And he should tag them publicly for the racists and white supremacist they are drunk on power. And he should also call them "Putin's" puppets as well.

No words should be spared on the GOP and its allies. Telling the truth about the GOP and its supporters is what Truman would have done. I hope Obama in his way will give them hell like Truman did. They cannot handle or rebut the truth.

Then they would have won. And the Eagles would have lost. I admire the patriots. But they did not score. This is something everyone has to reckon with.

Into one for the Dem party in 2010 and 2014.
I don’t understand why he wasn’t more interested in getting a Dem Congress to work with.

You've missed all the blaming of Obama by the Cult? You missed all the attack ads where EVERY right-wing nutjob campaigned against Obama rather than against their opponents? The Cult used Obama as a motivator to get their members to the voting booth! They are STILL using Obama as scapegoat. Every time TrumPutin feels unadored, he finds something else to blame on Obama and, like Pavlov's dog, the 'base' starts drooling and barking.

Find someone else to blame for elections lost.

I’ve run phone banks and canvasses and data entry and coordinated volunteer recruitment.
So, my mirror sleeps well at night.
It is pretty universally accepted in Dem circles that Obama didn’t make a huge effort in the midterms.
Didn’t see it as his place as President.
Doesn’t mean I like or respect him any less.
But, the Dem operatives that I got to know were very surprised that his2008 organization wasn’t built upon and there for the party to use in 2010.

Obama knew how to get turnout. But when he became president he allowed many organizations like ACORN to be shut down. Many of the people who got him the turnout he needed, were attacked and maligned by RepubliCONS.

Obama never used that vast army of new voters he was able to awaken. I never understood why.

Look at the pathetic little rallies Trump has. Can you imagine the crowds Obama would have drawn if he continued to rally the voters like Trump does? Imagine the political might Obama would have had if he had embraced Occupy and tapped into that political movement. I don't understand why he stamped out Occupy instead if using it.

What if Obama would have gotten behind the legalization of cannabis and used it as a tool to get us out of the Great Recession?

Obama is a great leader, but he seems to have well defined limits to mobilizing and effectively leveraging his vast army of liberal support.

and Obama, if he said anything, would have been blasted by the repug establishment as interfering w/ our elections and they would have gone all out, raising holy hell (remember, they are actors in drama, pretending to be outraged by stuff such as the deficit and so forth).

These repugs are hypocrites, who said nothing when they passed a tax cut and jobs bill that added big bucks to the federal debt, w/o paying for it. I see nothing in any of the job numbers that prove the merits of this tax cut bill of 2018. All I see is companies making a killing on not paying as much in taxes and using that money to pay themselves (by buying their stock back, etc., NOT passing along savings in higher and/or better wages).

Some tax cut. AND they are going to do it again (another so called tax cut bill)! What a joke.

Sure Obama did the noble thing by holding back when under vicious attack. Remember they kept up their racist and hate agenda for 8 years. It never let up. Obama firing back in his way would have energized the Democrats. Let the GOP go batshit crazy and berserk. They always to with even NO provocation.

The GOP has NEVER paid for this hateful agenda. They were in fact rewarded with more power. Now they are in a position to pretty much completely and totally wreck the future of the country and future generations. The GOP has already done severe damage to everything they touch.

Sure what I have said is second guessing. Understand what we could have done and what might have happened can help moving forward. The naysayers that I have now ignored simply are too dense to get it

By the way calling the GOP for the shit scum they are is NOT calling names. It is not calling someone names when what you are saying what and who they truly are.

He put in 8 years of service, so if he doesn't want to spend the next few years embroiled in bitter partisan politics and nasty attacks by the current occupant of the white house and all that entails, I wouldn't blame him.

There's only so much we can blame our leaders for before people need to start taking responsibility and start actually voting. We shouldn't have to be goaded into it by political stunts.

Like Obama said yesterday "Stop waiting for a saviour"

I wish Obama would sail off into the sunset...maybe just give us a wave everyone and again..

he has done his time, and don't owe us a damn thing..

This country brought this on itself...if this is all so unpalatable, where are the huge marches on DC?
