While the WH is preoccupied with finding the mole, a major hurricane is heading for the US
East coast. This could be a multi-state mess next week.

I know I am mentally going through a checklist here in Philly because we have already had quite a bit of rain this past summer and have been getting alot right now.
This is one that some meteorologists are pointing to as an analogy.
Day 6 (Friday morning)
Day 7 (Saturday morning)
which, assuming it didn't recurve around and go out to sea or didn't get sheared apart on its way to the coast, should be a bit stronger due to the bath water out in the Caribbean and western Atlantic. I.e., I would think it would be in the 990s or lower coming in. Even Isabel, which had a path not too dissimilar to this, came in at 990mb.
Of course I know WPC's forecasts are obviously speculative this far out. 
they have it just sitting there stalled and not going further inland after they move that big high to the north out of the way to the east. But I know there will be many changes from now until at least 48 hours before the event hits.
