(7,627 posts)We are at the border between north Carolina and Virginia. Last time a major hurricane landed (Isabel) we were out of power for two weeks.

(128,871 posts)which, assuming it didn't recurve around and go out to sea or didn't get sheared apart on its way to the coast, should be a bit stronger due to the bath water out in the Caribbean and western Atlantic. I.e., I would think it would be in the 990s or lower coming in. Even Isabel, which had a path not too dissimilar to this, came in at 990mb.
Of course I know WPC's forecasts are obviously speculative this far out.

(128,871 posts)they have it just sitting there stalled and not going further inland after they move that big high to the north out of the way to the east. But I know there will be many changes from now until at least 48 hours before the event hits.
(this is what happens when it's one of your hobbies and you post on a weather forum too )
