'I may never have a normal life again': Stormy Daniels speaks out in rare television interview

By Elise Viebeck
September 7 at 7:23 PM

Adult-film star Stormy Daniels said her safety has been threatened this year as her public profile grows and described feeling scared of “some pissed-off Trump supporter or fan coming after me, doing something stupid” as she pursues two lawsuits against President Trump.

In a rare television interview broadcast Thursday in the Netherlands, Daniels described how her role in the legal and political drama that has ensnared the White House dealt a fatal blow to her marriage and has prompted “hurtful” criticism on social media about her parenting.

Daniels, who also goes by the name Stephanie Clifford, only occasionally speaks to the media, making her wide-ranging, 40-minute conversation with the Dutch program “RTL Late Night with Twan Huys” unusual. The interview contained Daniels’s first extended response to former Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s plea deal last month and a series of candid reflections on how sudden political celebrity changed her life.

“People show up, and even if it’s for the right reasons, still a big group of people, even [if] they’re fans, can be quite dangerous,” Daniels said. “I travel with bodyguards and just having them around sort of deters people from trying anything.”

Porn stars use stage names, and without makeup, you’d be pretty hard pressed to spot one walking around in public.

I don't think so.

I feel bad for the people that never wanted to be, or tried to be, famous, but end up having their lives turned upside down by events that were beyond their control.

I don't feel that bad for people that seek out fame, and then complain because their lives aren't 'normal'. I mean....c'mon man. NOT having a normal life is part of being famous.

I'm not blaming her at all for being (rightfully) worried about crazed trump supporters.

That has made her life abnormally unnormal.

I'm saying that I feel bad for people that didn't want to be famous, but ended up being famous, and had their lives turned upside down.

I also feel bad for people that wanted to be famous, and ended up being famous, and had their lives turned upside down

I just don't feel as bad for the second group, as I do the first.

She wanted publicity. She could have left everything be quiet, and made sure that when attention was turned on her made it go away.

She liked the attention. She wanted the publicity. She wanted the politics that went with it.

But she didn't want the downside to the attention. She didn't want the downside to the publicity. She didn't want the downside to the politics that went with it.

Either she believes she gets to dictate the terms of the world and how others react and interact because she's all that, or she was foolish in not realizing what cause and effect is like.

It's like wanting to be football players for the glory but then complaining that it's hot, sweaty, and cuts into your daytime tv viewing time so you're a victim. (In other words, here the primary victim is the word "victim" for the damage done to it.)

Didn't the media coverage start with that NDA lawsuit that she sued trump over? I think she has a right to file a lawsuit without calling it a publicity tour.

I do believe she shouldn't be treated poorly because of her profession, but she has been taking her newfound mainstream fame to the bank headlining at strip clubs and other events all over the country. If she wants a "normal life" then why run newspaper and radio ads in every city broadcasting your upcoming appearances. She has to know she's a polarizing figure rightly or wrongly, if she didn't want the attention (and the $$) then she wouldn't be touring.

No one should get threatened, but sorry, don't have much sympathy for her otherwise.

Porn star has sex on film for money for a career

Willingly had sex with Trump ( why? for $$? couldn't have been because she found him attractive ? )

Saw an opportunity before the election and sold out for $$ to keep it quiet

Later realizes she could have got a lot more $$$ than she had agreed to & sues to overturn NDA

Went on all kinds of media outlets to tell her story and strip club tours as a headliner

Complains now about not having a "normal" life

If Ms. Clifford is at least a halfway-competent actress as well as a performer, some director ought to put her in a White Housed-themed comedy as a press secretary.

I mean if Ann fribbling Coulter can be President in one of the Sharknado movies, surely Ms. Clifford can do Press Secretary.
