GOP senator says he 'regularly considers' leaving Republican party

BY MORGAN GSTALTER - 09/08/18 10:24 AM EDT

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) acknowledged on Twitter Saturday morning that he “regularly” considers leaving the Republican party.

Sasse responded to a Twitter user who said they switched from being a member of the Democratic party to a "no party" voter and asked the GOP senator if he ever considered following suit.

Social media users quickly responded, arguing that President Trump has pushed life-long Republicans from the party.

Multiple local and national Republicans have resigned from the party over the last year, many citing Trump or the party’s response to the presidency. They include local GOP officials in Oregon, California and Connecticut.

He just isn't willing to sacrifice his own personal agenda for the greater good.

Instead he complains about Trump occasionally and enables him most of the time. His best time to take a stand is RIGHT NOW.

He's a RepubliCon. He has to. Party over country.

Walk the talk. Vote against him all the time and we'll believe you, Sasse.

A large majority of them know Brump is beyond redemption and they can no longer even wave off his lunacy...

But, here's the rub.

Openly admitting it would mean generally the Democrats and specifically Hillary Clinton were correct all along. It's a leap in cognitive dissonance their minds won't allow after 30 years of brain washing. It means their lives have been wasted on a dumpster fire.
