https://www.cbsnews.com/news/senator-ben-sasse-says-he-regularly-considers-leaving-the-republican-party/Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Nebraska, said on Twitter Saturday that he "regularly" considers leaving the Republican Party. He made the remark in response to a tweet by a user who said she switched from being a member of the Democratic Party to having no affiliation.
"I switched my party from Democrat [to] no-party this week as I see that to be part of the solution. Have you considered following suit?" the user asked Sasse.
He responded, "yep -- regularly consider it."

(54,358 posts)Just in case you were being serious, though being a Republican and all, no one is really expecting THAT.
After all, we have long ago ceased hoping Susan Collins was REALLY a "reasonable" Republican--I think her faithful "give Trump everything he wants" voting record has something to do with it.

(54,358 posts)After two hectic weeks with little to no sleep, we drove down to our younger daughter's place to visit with her and our new granddaughter. Nothing to do here but stare at the trees and play with the baby.
Hope all is well down there, too!

(37,457 posts)Could he get elected as a Democrat in Nebraska ? Yes, but it would be more difficult. He likes that dark Republican money too much.
