Maybe its time to remind the American people what it looks like when abortion is illegal.

There are pictures of women who died from black market abortions. I saw one of a woman in a motel room. It was ugly. Sometimes people have to be reminded there is a real world out there. Maybe the news media should show some of these pictures.

I think the people that need convincing are republican office holders trying to force their views on the rest of the country.

Her name was Gerri Santoro. She was 28 years old and she had children. She was fleeing domestic violence, and the lack of access to a safe abortion killed her.

Just as the carnage from violent mass shootings should be mandatory viewing for all advocates of unlimited access to guns and ammunition for military assault weapons...

I won't hold my breath waiting for either though...

We live in a fictitious society, where despite the awesome power of the internet and modern media to inform and provide unprecedented access to facts and to information, we instead drown in a literal flood of misinformation, propaganda, false narratives and outright lies.

The other thought that immediately comes to mind when I think about these perverted hypocritical savages promoting a reversal of Roe...WHO IS GOING TO CARE FOR THE CHILDREN YOU FORCE INTO EXISTENCE? Mothers who are incapable of providing a home or basic necessities for raising a child make up a significant number of those who seek abortion services. What is going to be done on behalf of these children once the GOP forces them into births? Are there enough cages left over from the border? Is there any plan to increase pre-school access and improvements to public schools to sustain an influx of additional students?

OF COURSE NOT...the debate never was about anything more than asserting male control over female bodies and shaming women for daring to control their sexual lives and reproductive choices, period.

This! Exactly! Do they ever think of the long term consequences of their actions? Their tax cuts, their gun laws, their limitations on women's reproductive rights? Never. They are so ignorant and short-sighted. They are like children.

If men could get pregnant there would be no abortion debate. There would be an abortion clinic in every town and city in America.

and no doubt fathers--the girls' and the embryos'--and husbands, in prison for purchasing and of course if they result in what will be legally considered murder of another person.

In 2013 an Indiana court and jury deliberately misapplied a law and sentenced a woman to 30 years in prison, knocked down to 20, for "both killing a baby and killing a fetus" after she miscarried, by whatever means. It's an indicator.

Our bodies expel by far most fertilized eggs, and miscarriages of implanted eggs are also very common. Women who miscarry will be in real danger of being turned in to the authorities by malicious others who accuse them of aborting. I used to know someone whose mother-in-law did just that long ago; didn't go to trial for lack of evidence, but the MIL won: her son took her side, marriage over, he and MIL got custody of their son.

Hey, I go to church every Sunday! Jesus is ok with me threatening my mistress with violence if she doesn’t get an abortion. Jesus was a sinner, too!

I mean, it’s not like I’m one of them queers.

the dangers of illegal abortion...

abortions were performed in 1776 w/o retribution (note to all the Originalists)

for America’s first century, abortion wasn’t even banned in a single US state.

Throughout the colonial period and during the early years of the republic, the abortion situation for slave women was different than for other women. Slaves were subject to the rules of their owners, and the owners refused to allow their slaves to terminate pregnancies. The owners wanted their slaves to produce as many children as possible since these children belonged to the slave owners.

… found out she was pregnant with her fourth child. She didn't want or think she could handle another and simply could not cope with the facts of her life at the time. She didn't die by abortion she died by self inflicted gunshot to the head in front of her 3 kids and two other kids (between the ages of 3-6).

We keep saying .. well if men had the babies. Well, if no one is getting any action of any sort maybe that will get some attention... maybe the ladies need to go on strike.
