(13,485 posts)was that RvWade was settled law with Kavanagh? Kavanagh supposedly told her it was. Now that we all know that he thinks it isn't settled....
.... what is she going to vote now?
I think she's in a hole of her own making. She votes to confirm and she's just another liar.

(58,785 posts)too dutiful to get angry. Just like Murkowski and Collins, critical percentages of Republicans in both states say they do want legal abortion. Significant numbers also already say they do not want Kavanaugh. What will win out? Their daughters' safety and freedom from tyranny of the state or partisan loyalty?

(5,456 posts)When KKKavenaugh used the phrase "abortion inducing drugs" it's VERY CLEAR his intention to overturn Griswold v. Connecticut.
They will overturn the right to contraceptives. Watch.
The current Repuke party wants to return the nation to the 50's. The EIGHTEEN FIFTIES.
FUCK THEM ALL.

(18,101 posts)They're going to vote for a Republican President's SC nominee. Thinking they wouldn't is just foolish.

(3,483 posts)it down???
All they have to do is occasionally rail against it and the $$$ come flowing in.
If abortion stops, Republicans WILL panic, because the anti-abortion crowd won't have that bone to gnaw on anymore, and they might actually turn their attention to the ECONOMIC INJUSTICE that hey live under.
Republicans will have NONE OF THAT!

(92,138 posts)for some time now, and with the likely nomination of Kavanaugh, that will continue at an accelerated pace
The Republican Party is no longer the party of Eisenhower. It has turned into an extremist party with an extreme right wing agenda, and it is obvious to most observers in spite of the abuses and conflicts of interest this administration has been engaged in, their right wing agenda is more important to them than the Constitution
The lessons of the thirties that it cant happen here are soon forgotten, and Woodwards book reinforces that

(14,708 posts)This is about power and vindictiveness. They will ban abortions and move on to the next non-issue; contrceptives. Then sex between consenting adults. They will outlaw (again) specific acts.
They have no shortage of issues to pummel us with. And with 5 votes, they don't even need congress or the white house.

(5,693 posts)Well, you can't keep making empty promises without eventually having to deliver. Lesson for Republicans: Don't install judges who aim to make good on your promises if you didn't mean to keep them.

(86 posts)They're a lot like Rand Paul, blow a lot of hot air to get airtime, then vote with Republicans every time. I can't stand them being thought of as some feminist icons.
