3. Trump is obsessed with Loyalty (actually Fealty)

His Base/Rank-and-File Republicans are obsessed with actions that "betray" America: burning flags, kneeling during the Anthem, etc. Rooting out sedition is as American as Joe McCarthy and HUAC.

It all makes sense if you're a RWNJ.

The OpEd writer is basically trying to save Trump from himself, so in a way, they actually are being loyal.
