Michael Avenatti's Grand Plans: Would Base Presidential Campaign In St. Louis

Though he has not yet announced any definite 2020 plans, Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti has decided that he would base his headquarters in St. Louis and believes he could win Missouri if he were to run for president, according to a Sunday Politico report.
“I grew up there, I have ties to the area, my parents still live there; they’re getting older. It’s centrally located in the country. It’s the place that I identify most closely with as home,” Avenatti told Politico. “If I do this, I’m going to spend a significant part of my campaign in the Midwest.”
“If I do this, I think Missouri is very much going to be in play,” he continued. “I’m going to spend a lot of time there.”
As Politico notes, Hillary Clinton lost Missouri by 19 points to President Donald Trump in 2016.
