in an eastward moving front just like Gordon did and dump a lot of rain somewhere on the east coast/Ohio valley area.

I remember a huge flood there....maybe in '86? Flying in, it seemed the flooding was everywhere. Old Town Alexandria was several feet underwater at King Street.

Just from the massive weekend rains that have nothing to do with Florence. The low areas along the Potomac are susceptible at all times.

We have had so much rain this year.
